John resides in Oak Island, North Carolina and maintains a home in Raleigh-Durham.
He hails from Pennsylvania, where he graduated from Lafayette College on Dean’s List with a BA in Psychology. John completed some graduate work at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he enjoyed his first introduction to the wine and food industry as a waitperson on the front lines while student teaching. For the past thirty years, John has accumulated a wealth of experience as a Restaurateur, Executive Chef, Banquet Manager, etc. He opened and or operated four restaurants in Pennsylvania and in North Carolina. Since 1985, John has been working in fine wine sales and in wine marketing. After working for several companies, John opened and operated his own wine distributorship in 1989. After selling his own company in 1992, John got back into sales management, developing fine wine portfolios for other wine companies. John’s more recent exploits has included being a fine wine broker for domestic and imported brands throughout the Southeast.
John is blessed with two lovely daughters who have been most supportive, both before, and since their dad joined Wimbledon Wine Company. John participates in various charities, including summer camps for special children, mission trips, rehabbing homes in South Carolina, and Habitat for Humanity in Hillsboro, North Carolina. John taught Sunday school for over 10 years, and continues to work with various youth groups.
